This time it’s personal
EverettBrookes opened its Gawler Place doors in Adelaide in March 2009 in a venture that was at least a year in the making. Five years down the track, the calculated risk to join forces and go out on their own has been a triumph, especially when you consider they entered the fray right on the eve of the global financial crisis that in its time claimed more than a few scalps. They are part of a dying breed
- jewellers who still handcraft every piece
- and these artisans are committed to continuing to provide that opportunity for unique pieces.
To David Everett and Ian Brookes, jewellery is personal – for them and the customer. As with starting up all new businesses, the road has been tough and required a lot of blood, sweat and tears but having first worked alongside each other back in the 1980s, both David and Ian knew neither would shy away from hard work or challenges. Together they boast more than four decades of experience in the jewellery making caper and the way things are headed at EverettBrookes, they’ll be racking up quite a few more years yet.
