The ordinary alchemist

The ordinary alchemist turning old into new – with a little help

With a lot of jewellery designed on computers and mass-produced using wax models, much of the old fashioned romance of the trade has been lost.

But Ian Brookes and David Everett, Directors of EverettBrookes Jewellers, share a passion for handcrafting one of a kind pieces.

“Jewellery has been made for thousands of years, thousands of years, and we’re essentially using the same tools – hammers, files, saws,” Ian Brookes says.

“I know when I’m siting here filing away this metal, 2,000 years ago in Egypt somebody was doing a very similar thing.”

Hand made by you

We’ve had an incredible response to allowing customers to come in and make their own engagement rings. Sebastian here is filing his band after having hand rolled the white gold and bending into a ring. Our clients tell us it’s an amazing experience. Your rings are a symbol of an emotional connection between you and your partner. There’s no greater emotional connection than having made it yourself with your own hands. Discover more of this unique experience to make your own engagement or wedding ring.

Nature loves diamonds

Butterfly & Diamonds We received this incredible photo today from one of our clients on vacation in Canada. This butterfly was attracted to the sparkle of her diamond halo engagement and wedding ring set. Katie tells us that the butterfly stayed for 20 minutes.

It makes sense that one of natures beautiful creatures would be attracted to anothers.

Clearly diamonds are not just a girl’s best friend!

EverettBrookes wins inaugural “Best Jewellery Retailer” award

JIA Best Jeweller Retailer 2014 Tonight at a gala industry event on the Gold Coast, EverettBrookes Jewellers have just been awarded ‘Best Retail Jeweller’ for Australia and New Zealand in the inaugural Jewellery Industry Awards.

To receive such a high honour in the ‘large retail’ category against established household names is simply overwhelming. To win the major prize in only your fifth year of business is humbling.

This industry awarded and industry voted award was chosen by a panel of our peers of jewellery and industry professionals.

Our mantra is unique jewellery and a unique experience. To have our efforts in all areas of our business acknowledged with this award is a just reward for the vision of our Directors and Executive Jewellers David Everett and Ian Brookes and our entire team of talented professionals.

If you’ve not experienced our services yourself we invite you to call in and discover what all the fuss is about for yourself.

Creating 100% Satisfaction

By Sonya Winterbotham

Dave&IanBlogPicToday I’m reading the Alchemist.

It may in fact become the first book I will finish in one day… Not that 167 pages is a big challenge but my reading pace tends to be that of the tortoise and not the hare. For those, who have waited far too long to read the Alchemist it is a story about following your Personal Legend, following your dream and doing what you were born to do. I believe these two men are doing just that…

David Everett and Ian Brookes are jewellersThey are not men who use moulds or machinery to make mass produced pieces shipped to chain stores around the country. David Everett and Ian Brookes are true craftsmen, with hands born of skill and eyes formed of precision they meticulously, lovingly, proudly produce the most spectacular pieces of jewellery crafted by hand.
